No idea which man would want to hide the fact that he carries a shaver, but if you’re one who places space in your luggage as a premium, then the USB Card Shaver would fit into your agenda very nicely. This device has a diameter of just 1cm, and is perfect for business and travel. A full charge will last for up to 12 hours of shaving, which ought to be more than enough to go through a week’s worth of stubble with juice to spare. In case you don’t want to charge it via a notebook, there is always a USB-to-AC adapter to keep it charged. The USB Card Shaver will retail for approximately $32 each, and it would be nice to see future improvements include integrated memory (with waterproof specifications, of course).

Yaskawa Electric’s Motoman SDA10 robot has been out and about for a little while now (along with its not-so-distant relatives ), but it’s apparently not just getting by on its good looks alone, and it recently took advantage of Osaka’s International Next-Generation Robot Fair to show off its newly developed cooking skills. While there unfortunately doesn’t seem to be any video available, the word is it was able to take an order from a customer using its voice recognition capabilities and whip up some okonomiyaki (a pancake, of sorts) from scratch, with it even going so far as to serve it to the customer and top it off with some condiments.

There is just something creepy about this USB hub that comes in the form of a forlorn looking cat, as you open up its back downwards to reveal a trio of USB 2.0 ports, while the cover ends up as the tail instead. Pretty clever design if you ask me. In addition, it looks as though it is gazing after its USB cable for the longest time in its life (all nine of them apparently). Too bad you won’t be able to pick this up at retail stores since it is only available in bulk purchases via Alibaba. At least this is better than most USB hub designs we see these days.

The risky process one has to do when the day starts is nothing but waking up, Almost all stop there alarms and wakes up without actually having no interest in it. So now , lets get the boring part an interesting part, here's an alarm clock that has to be stopped not by tapping but by shooting at the target. so try shooting it and the cost of it is only $ 18

Now that Intel’s brought together the world in a harmonious USB 3.0 Standard, here’s a first look at the new connectors brought to us by MaximumPC. Ten times faster than the old USB spec, USB 3.0 can transfer a 27GB file in just 70 seconds. Plus, with more “lanes” of data within the connector, new USB will be able to simultaneously send and receive information—that might not sound like much, but the old USB couldn’t do so. This first shot is of the A and B-side USB connectors (the normal USB and the fat one often used in printers). This second shot is of the new mini USB:

Yes, it looks a lot like a tiny HDMI cord.

The biggest benefit of USB 3.0, however, may be the new power management options. First, USB peripherals in standby will no longer be drained of their power while periodically checking in with your PC. That means less battery drain for laptop users, and to make things even better, this more efficient communication strategy will be backward compatible to USB 2.0 devices as well.

The other major power upgrade is that there’s a whole lot more running through the wire. The spec has been bumped from carrying 100 miliamps to 900 milliamps, meaning that we can expect faster charge times on USB devices along with less worrying about how many power-needy devices are plugged into our hubs.

For more of the nitty gritty on USB 3.0, hit up Maximum PC’s excellent rundown on the new tech.

It seems that you have so many devices on your computer table and you're not able to find space for you newly brought scanner then go for this keyboard which is integrated with a scanner in it. The keyboard is a USB keyboard. But one problem with this is that when you need a book to be scanned it doesn't serve your purpose, it is just a sheet scanner. Scanning is as simple as slotting the paper in through the slot at the top, and the paper will exit at the bottom. The Keyscan currently supports Windows XP and Vista, and costs $160, which isn’t the cheapest scanner around, but that’s the price of convenience, isn’t it?

Have u ever seen a gadget with more than three functionalities, here's one such. This mouse pad not only provide you with the mere smooth and clean surface for you to slide your peripheral across effortlessly but also has other features like

  • Four port USB 2.0 hub
  • Integrated stereo speakers
  • Built-in microphone
  • Built-in audio in and out ports

The mouse pad along with all these extra features is just for $ 19.99

Boy that Michael Phelps is fast. No one can argue it, he can dominate in almost any style of swim and possesses one of the best dolphin kicks in the world. That is, one of the best kicks aside from some random guy using the Lunocet monofin. Because while Phelps is able to swim at an inhuman 5 miles per hour, the average swimmer using the carbon fiber Lunocet will routinely hit about 8mph. Is it too late for us to book our tickets to Beijing?

The Lunocet weighs about 2.5lbs out of the water, but in the water it’s positively buoyant. Constructed from silicon wrapped in carbon fiber with a titanium footplate, the system gives you the same power on a downstroke as an upstroke. Coupled with a pair of strong legs the monofin could theoretically generate enough power to drive a human completely out of the water—yes, real life dolphin acrobatics at last.

So is the Lunocet worth its $1250 to $1800 pricetag? We don’t know, but it sure sounds a whole lot better than actually training. And we doubt that we’ll be getting access toDARPA's swimming tech anytime soon.

The Nissan Mori electric scooter that you see here looks way too kiddy-like to be used by adults, so I suspect that sales will be pretty limited if it ever rolls off a production line. What makes the Nissan Mori interesting, however, is the ability to suit the rider by adjusting itself, while all mechanical and maintenance issues are managed by the on-board computer. Being powered by electricity, there is also a lower impact on the environment, making this the perfect personal transportation device to have in crowded, metropolitan cities. How much are you willing to pay for something like this?

Here's a iris webcam from Boynq. It's a VGA webcam, it’s got a 5W RMS speaker and an 8-LED light. It’s just $59.

Now I know that this Karlsson vibrating alarm clock might get sniggers and strange look from certain people, as they think you’d rather be aroused each morning instead of being rudely awakened by a deafening ring. Still, if you’re willing to look at it maturely, this is one gentle alarm clock that gets you out of bed. Place it under your pillow and let the $59 wonder get to work at the designated wake up time. During the day, you can keep its batteries juiced up by docking it in the charging dock, ready for the next morning’s work. If snooze buttons are your favorite friends, then hitting snooze enough times will cause it to resort to an audible alarm instead.

Scientists at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands have found a new way to generate electricity for the masses without adding a single step of carbon footprint to the earth simply by tethering a 10 square meter kite to a generator. This move is able to generate up to 10 kilowatts of power - more than enough juice to power 10 homes. Taking this idea and enlarging it, the same team of scientists hope to use a 50 kilowatt kite and a 100 megawatt array dubbed the Laddermill, hoping that this will eventually power 100,000 homes - all without the risk of a nuclear power plant blowing up. I wonder what happens when these kites are covered in lightweight solar panels?

The Winglet is Toyota’s Segway killer—as if there was anything left to kill—a personal transport assistant that comes in three different models, all destined to fail in the US to the lack of sidewalk vehicle regulations and cheeseburger/cup holders. The three models—Type S, M, and L—look great, especially the small one, with no handlebar at all.The Winglet—still being refined—is one of TMC’s people-assisting Toyota Partner Robots. Designed to contribute to society by helping people enjoy a safe and fully mobile life, the Winglet is a compact next-generation everyday transport tool that offers advanced ease of use and expands the user’s range of mobility.

Sakku has introduced the Solar Buddy for those who just need something tossed over their shoulder, and while the solar panel is unmistakable, the bag still manages to go easy on the eyes. Reportedly, the knapsacks are constructed from recycled material, and while the “direct” model charges portable gadgetry directly (big shock, right?), the “akku” model actually includes a battery pack that can be juiced for use in darkened alleyways and the like. A tad steep at €175 ($271) / €245 ($380) in order of mention, but it’s probably a design premium we’d be willing to pay.

Shelves are handy things to have in any home, as they offer additional storage space for you to keep your junk - er, memorabilia. Enter the giant LED clock shelf that not only houses your collection of books and toys, the space between these square “pigeon holes” are not wasted as they have been adorned with LED strips, lighting up in different combinations to form a digital clock when seen from afar.

If you cannot afford a large screen TV in your living room, there is a cheaper (albeit lower quality) alternative in the form of the Vuzix iWear 920s. This pair of virtual reality glasses claims to simulate watching a 62″ display form 8.5 feet away. What’s new with the VR920s is the ability to offer 3D images in gameplay. The Vuzix iWear VR920s will retail for approximately £250.

If you’re a stickler for proper law and order, then the Laser Parking System ought to be right up your alley. This $30 device ($25 if you search for a cheaper source) is instaled in your garage to help you park - it uses the integrated motion sensor to know whether a vehicle is approaching or not, kicking off the Laser Guided Parking System to “shoot” a bright, vertical laser beam from a mounting location so that you will be able to park in the same spot every time without fail. Too bad they don’t use this in driving tests…

Flynn Product Design has come up with a stunning take on a futuristic, alien-like Bluetooth webcam concept that offers unpredecented flexibility where camera angles are concerned. This concept webcam comes with a ball and socket joint, connecting both base and body units for unparalleled viewing freedom. There is no word on resolution or any other specifications, but being Bluetooth-enabled surely means you will need to recharge it from time to time. I sure hope this thing comes with decent battery life then since it would be a bummer to hold a video conversation halfway only to get cut off after running out of juice unexpectedly.

Well we have seen many cells that can trace our lost cells or do some thing else but here come a new trend of cellphones in which the battery can warn you before the cellphone explodes. The new “intelligent” lithium-ion battery is supposed to prevent explosions and fire accidents by sending constant updates on its own health. Developed by researchers at NTT DoCoMo, the battery uses a 8-bit microcomputer “brain” to monitor its condition and relay the information to the cellphone user. The pack then notifies you when it’s time to recharge, when it needs repairs or even when it’s time for a replacement. Information is stored on the battery itself, so that even if you change your phone, you can still view your pack’s previously recorded data. NTT DoCoMo says that keeping close track of deterioration in the battery pack is a great way to prevent the Li-ions from catching fire or exploding—a problem that has only increased as the need for more portable power continues to swell. The new brand of intelligent batteries will be found on phone models coming out next year.

Does they look delicious, but u have no choice of biting it, Surprised! well let me explain u these are not the food items but USB drives in food shapes. Brando have come up with these edible looking disks of their own. At theirs count there's chicken, hot wings, a slab of pork, a pizza slice, a burger, a watermelon slice, a strawberry, cookies and biscuits-- all lifelike enough that you would accidentally put it in your mouth. They hold upto 4GB worth of junk and cost only $28.

Designer Mizanur Rehman has come up with this Alien Mouse concept that is touted to adhere strictly to the principles of ergonomics, offering users maximum comfort by molding itself to the user’s hand. This is made possible thanks to the body which is made up of soft gel and cellulose. It will come with a pulsating central core that vibrates throughout the frame, offering relief from stress. I’m not too sure whether there is any data to back up such a claim, but if the vibration intensity can be adjusted accordingly, I’m sure that half of the world’s population would take more than a second look at the Alien Mouse and not because of it’s design.

The scientists at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign had a promising research on carbon nanotubes. Put simply (or as simply as possible), researchers have discovered that “networks of single-walled carbon nanotubes printed onto bendable plastic perform well as semiconductors in integrated circuits.” So well, in fact, that the nanotube networks could one day “replace organic semiconductors in applications such as flexible displays.” Granted, there is still much to do before these networks are ready for product integration, but you can bet these folks aren’t hitting the brakes after coming this far.

DelFly Micro has released an image sensing mini dragonfly that tips the scales at just 3 grams, and you will be able to manually control it to capture video images that will be transferred back to your PC when it returns to its nest of operations, which is located at your desk. It makes me wonder how this functions in breezy areas, as something this small will certainly fail to go up against strong gusts of wind. It will be interesting to see what kind of range the DlyFly Micro has, lets wait for it to come out

If you want to own a certain automobile coming from the next Transformers movie, then the polished motorcycle concept tossing amidst two and three wheels (apparently) with the mere touch of a button can be your next potential deal. Considering the highway route, it is accessible via three wheels but on jammed roads the entire commuter chalet swivels, elating the third veer (that sprouts blades) in the air, hence keeping the framework steady likewise in an airliner tail. The seating in the compartment stay erect when it turns, so munchies can stay in their cup receptacle. Designed and developed by student Seyyed Javad Ghaffarian for Car Design News 2008 design contest, the twisty vehicle concept is aptly christened as the Magic Tricycle. It is an indication that its march towards touching reality would be no less than a magic. I doubt if anyone gives a second thought before buying one, the day it hits market.

Most USB flash drives come in the same, drab old rectangular form factor. Of course, if you want something different you will just have to try this 8GB Bulb USB flash drive. It weighs just 25 grams and would be more impressive if the bulb lit up each time it was plugged in. $54 for an 8GB flash drive

Michael Arrington has appealed to geeks of the world to help him come up with an idea for a $200 web tablet that looks good to the eyes and is able to surf the Web without much hassle. Of course, it won’t break the bank at that price point, but it has to be powerful enough to run programs such as Firefox and Skype without crashing or running out of memory. I think a touch screen-based 8.9″ Eee PC or something in a similar vein would be great,

Though watches with USB storage are becoming quite common (if not popular), here’s one USB watch that is rather different. The Timeless Watch has a strap that looks like it was made out of an IDE ribbon cable from inside a PC, and the clasp is actually a USB connector. The watch also seems to get its juice from the standard USB port. Aside from that, the watch looks to function like any other basic watch. If you’re interested in getting this, you’re probably out of luck, as it’s currently just a design concept, though you can probably find a similar cable inside your computer to start building one of your own.

Still not satisfied by the many, many cooling options out there to keep your toasty CPU under control? Then perhaps upstart Danamics’ new liquid metal-based LM10 cooler will meet with your approval. According to the company, the LM10 is not only the first liquid metal-based cooler to hit the market, but it says it’ll do a better job at keeping your CPU cool than most water-based cooling systems. That’s apparently possible thanks to a combination of liquid metal (the exact specifics of which seem to be under wraps) and a “multi-string” electromagnetic pump, which has no moving parts and doesn’t require external housings or large resevoirs. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing or availablity just yet, but judging from the way the company’s talking about it, it seems like it’s about ready to go.

Say, is this a Microsoft SideWinder-branded keyboard? Looks like it might just be. It looks like it’ll go by the name of SideWinder X6, and feature a detachable numeric keypad, programmable keys, and “cruise control” (don’t quote us, this is from a translation) which emulates a steady keypress. It’ll run $80 in September

Its just a twist that can make your call, It has neither displays nor buttons but uses haptic feedback. To make a call u need to line up the number you're trying to dial on twelve numbered sections and then twist the top until an LED turns green to make a call.

Are you sick of hearing loud music, dont worry here is an interesting concept waiting for u, SNAP it off earplugs. With the Snap It Off earplugs, these are easy to carry in your wallet since they are stored in a credit card-sized housing. Would be cooler if the concept came with some sort of Bluetooth connectivity integrated, as it would then make for a highly desirable pair of wireless headphones as well.

If you are simply not satisfied with the battery life battery life of your new iPhone 3G, you do have a few options. You could try and maximize it, or you could pick up some battery packs like the iPhoneck. Sure it extends your iPhone 3G by a whopping 2-inches, but it can also fully charge your phone in 90 minutes. The iPhoneck will be available in August for $43.

Yet an another USB - Powered gizmo, the HEAT ME. the heat me is a stirrer, put the metal ends of the stirrer in the cup and it gets warmed up when plugged into the USB port, thus giving you a toasty wand to keep your hot tea / coffee at the proper temperature even when colleagues pull you away momentarily. Are you a coffee / tea addict then you are supposed to have one

The US’s latest entry, the Algiz 10. The 10.4-inch tablet manages to meet the tough MIL-STD-810F military standards for shock, vibration, and moisture and can operate in temps from -4 to 140 Fahrenheit in a housing that’s not entirely ugly, and still pack in a ULV 1.2GHz Core Duo, 80GB drive, 2GB of RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth, an EDGE / GPRS radio and a beefy nine-cell 7800mAh Li-on battery that can run Windows XP for seven hours. No word on pricing yet

Well we have seen the combination of an umbrella and the torch in one of my earlier posts, now its turn of bluetooth that's combining with the umbrella. Have you ever operated you cellphone while its raining, i know the answer will be no, here is one smart idea for that. Now with the bluetooth enabled umbrella you can answer your calls and even this umbrella has a FM integrated in it, so you can also listen to the radio .

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, Comcast sure knows how to throw together a 10 million pixel video display. The one seen here is available for ogling at the Comcast Center in Philadelphia, and covers over 2,100 square feet of wall space with four-millimeter LED lights. The images and video that play on this super screen do so with a resolution that’s five times that of HDTV. Comcast ended up paying Barco $22 million for the wall display and accompanying automated control room, which handles about 27,000 gigabytes of information. If you have 10 minutes to spare, the impressive presentation video of this thing in action is definitely worth a view.

The guys over at Crabfu Motionworks have been responsible for some weird and wonderful robotic creations over the years, and their latest is no exception. The Crabfu R/C Tortoise Bot crawls along the ground like a turtle, with a set of 4 sub-micro servos controlling its pokey little legs. The way it ambles about, I don’t think this tortoise will be beating any hares in a race anytime soon.

Optoma has just announced the first Pico projector that is powered by the DLP Pico chipset, with a device so small it is able to fit right into the palm of your hand with no problems whatsoever. Being smaller than the majority of smart phones out there, mobile professionals who eat, drink and sleep PowerPoint will definitely find this to be a boon in their everyday work. The Optoma Pico Projector will be available in limited distribution in Europe and Asia in late 2008, where a worldwide launch will begin next year. No idea on pricing though.

The CPR Pad could potentially save the lives of many, if and only if it moves beyond the concept stage. This design is meant to be applied to the patient’s chest during an emergency, where the monitor/aid will show how to push the chest correctly, giving out a click when you do it right. A flashing light will ensure that a proper rhythm is maintained, making anyone able to perform CPR without having to read through first aid manuals or doing it wrongly.

Umbrella’s aren’t just good for shielding you against rain and the sun, but an improvisation would result in the Light ‘N Go Auto Open Auto Close Folding Umbrella with Flashlight Handle, providing you with some much needed light at night. Turning the thing on and off is achieved by pressing a button on the handle, and LED lights are by no means dim, making them a suitable choice to light up your path when you’re talking a stroll through unfamiliar territory at night. It retails for $25 and is waterproof, ensuring you won’t get electrocuted whenever the heavens open.

Nooka’s Zub watches glow-in-the-dark, they were actually manufactured for Kanye West’s “Glow in the Dark” tour featuring Lupe Fiasco, Rihanna, and N.E.R.D. No idea if these will ever make it out on the open market since West himself purchased most of them. Maybe those who troll eBay 24/7 might catch a whiff, but I wouldn’t put too much hope on that either unless through a catastrophic string of events, West ends up broke and derelict (touch wood).
